I decided to throw together some quick summer shorts based loosely off McCall’s pattern M4820 that I got on sale for 65 cents at some point in the recent past. The sizes on this particular pattern only go up to size 6 so I figured I’d better sew something from it before the kids outgrew the pattern. The shorts in the pattern are very long so my modifications mostly involved shortening the leg length.
I thought it would be useful for the kids to each have a drawstring bag for their laundry when we go on vacation so I sewed up a couple of simple bags from fun fabric. Here they are!
I’m trying to use up yarn (to make space so I can get new yarn) so I’ve been crocheting quite a bit lately. Here are some recent projects.
A crochet circle vest based on the pattern from Hooked on Homemade Happiness (http://www.hookedonhomemadehappiness.com/circle-vest-crochet-pattern/)
A little crochet hat to use up some leftover yarn.
This is a super soft lap blanket I made for my mom. It’s just a simple double crochet.
This little purse used up some cotton yarn and I barely got a picture of it before it was absconded with and filled with toys.
I was encouraged to start a blog again to record some of the farm and craft things that I work on. A big thanks to Eric at Sylvian Brood for helping me get this started again!
